This is a short story competition sent to BBC radio 1, at the age of 13 years old.
I'm not sure if I still have the story – it must be in the attic boxes somewhere – but it was a huge thrill to receive a letter from the BBC in those days.
Funny to think that I'd end up working for them for 20 years later in life.
The most interesting things about reading these rejection letters is how nice – and encouraging – they are.
